Challenge
Environment created for the scene from Animal Farm, Chapter 8: The Battle of Windmill. Excerpt: “At the same time he warned them that after this treacherous deed the worst was to be expected. Frederick and his men might make their long-expected attack at any moment. Sentinels were placed at all the approaches to the farm. …. The very next morning the attack came. The animals were at breakfast when the look-outs came racing in with the news that Frederick and his followers had already come through the five-barred gate."
Solution
A reference mockup was created in Sketchup to serve as an aid for the setting. Various models were sourced from the Sketchup marketplace for a quick rendition of the setting. This also allowed for a speedy test of multiple camera angles before opting for the final composition pictured alongside. The final illustration alongside, features placeholders for 'Frederick and his men', who have arrived early morning to attack Animal Farm.
