Challenge
Objective: To create an advertisment for SOS Children’s Villages. About: SOS Children's Villages provides foster homes for children. They operate in 138 countries and territories and while they originally began after WWII to look after children impacted by the war, they later expanded their services to help vulnerable children globally. Usage: Hero illustration for a campaign poster, that would feature as a part of a comprehensive marketing campaign that includes a branded gifts. Purpose: To spread awareness and garner public support for the organisation’s initiatives. Demographic: Adults, 25 years old and above - for donations and support.
Solution
Different emotional interpretations were explored. Considering that the illustration would also appear on gifted products, the Art Direction recommendation was to showcase a positive aspect of the organization’s mission. This was translated into an illustration that conveys the warmth and security children experience in a safe and nurturing home environment.
